    AUSTIN, TEXAS (May 21, 2007) – Joe Lea, a partner at McGinnis, Lochridge & Kilgore, has been elected to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) as a member of the Austin Chapter. Membership is granted exclusively to attorneys nominated on the basis of personal character, honorable reputation and proficiency as a trial lawyer.

    A trial lawyer for more than 36 years, Lea heads the firm’s Litigation Section and represents plaintiffs and defendants in complex civil litigation at all levels of state, federal and appellate courts.  In addition to his membership in ABOTA, he is a fellow of the American Bar and Texas Bar Foundations and a former director of the State Bar of Texas.

    The American Board of Trial Advocates membership consists of more than 6,300 trial lawyers representing equally the plaintiff and defense bars as well as judges among 93 chapters in all 50 states,  the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
